Time just flies for us this time of year. It's been a very busy month with school, celebrations, various activities and change of weather that always brings in the cold season to go with all of that. Just this past weekend, we made a trip to the pumpkin patch to start into some fall festivities. Eric picked out a whopping 22 lb. pumpkin. I think he thought this would provide us with an endless supply of pumpkin pie, but instead it became a jack-o-lantern immediately that evening. "Aunt" Kathleen came over and with Eric's design, it was carved into a large, scary face. Jesse colored one of our home grown pumpkins while Daddy made a little, toothy happy face pumpkin. Eric wanted the big jack-o-lantern to eat the little one, but that didn't quite happen (not yet, anyway).
So, along with this brief note are some pictures from our own personalized harvest festival. Now I think we're getting close to being ready for Halloween and the holiday season that follows. Just to be sure, we're closing out the weekend by cooking up a home grown/made pumpkin pie this evening and looking forward to it being done shortly!
