SPRING THINGS

It looks as if the time change WAS too soon for our season with the way the weather has been. We’re looking at 80 today though so the season should be kicking in full force. The planting of our flower bulbs we had gotten in March finally went into the ground just today in the belief that we will no longer encounter tundra weather for several months.

Also, we are in a countdown of 14 days to go until our Disney vacation which is quite exciting. Preparation has included reviewing previous visit pictures, discussing experiences with co-workers (there are a slew of them that have gone/are going in the next few weeks), making infamous lists and watching movies that have their own “Land” or area within one of the Disney parks that will be must-sees.

Jesse & I took a roadtrip yesterday out to Penn State for the Blue & White game. There was a record crowd of about 71,000 folks there who actually mostly sported orange and maroon school colors rather than our own out of respect and consideration for the VT victims. Uncle Adam sat in the shade with us and helped Jesse participate in the “wave” and traditional cheering involved in this kind of event. Jesse truly believed that they would eventually have a 7th inning stretch and play “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” but this is likely based on more familiarity of going to Buc games. Now that the weather has turned, it is likely we will head to that local stadium soon as well.

Also, this weekend Eric crossed over from Wolf to Bear and Jon “led the pack.” There are now 13 of them and other than summer camp, they get Monday nights off now until the fall- yeah! Jon also performed in a new church service on Saturday – both in the drama and singing lead. He will also be strumming tonight at another church with a new band, but familiar soloist. The boys and I are “staying cool” in rounding out the rest of our weekend.
