Here we are in March already...it's about time for another update as we SPRING ahead. There was lots of travel this past month. Jon and I went to Vegas to share in a celebration of my Mom's 65th birthday a few weeks ago. This also coincided with Jon's birthday. We got to spend a little time with some friends and family from the west, saw some interesting sites, ate some great food at an Italian restaurant in the Venetian and yummy crepes "in Paris" (not as good as the real deal, but close and was fun to reminisce about that anyway). The shows we also checked out included Penn and Teller and Wayne Brady which were also great. The boys stayed back and on task with school and Grandma and Grandpa holding down the fort all week for us.
Just after getting back and trying to readjust to our time zone, I had to head to Chicago three days later for a training class. After that, Jon and I got to be tourists for a day. We trekked up and down Michigan Ave., went up the Sears Tower, and ate some deep dish pizza from Gino's. It was a nice day in the city. The boys didn't make this trip either, staying back to have fun with Grammy and Larry for the weekend.
The next weekend, I was happy to be a homebody. The boys, on the other hand, had a couple of days off from school so met Grandpa in Shaver's Creek for the weekend. It seems about that time - for spring and/or cabin fever??!! Everyone came back healthy though - whew!
This past week was our show week, checking out Joel Osteen and Bon Jovi. Our seats at the Igloo were excellent for both and Grammy again watched the boys for us. As this is unusual for us to "get out" so much without the kids, Jesse inquired as to why we keep going places without them. He seems okay with it, just curious.
This coming holy week, we are actually going somewhere AND taking the kids with us. I don't think they don't know it yet, but we're headed to Splash Lagoon for two days of wet fun and then spending the rest of the weekend with the family for Easter weekend. Let's hope their snow time is over as it should be about that time and I have now spotted a robin! Keep thinking spring!!!
