Last weekend, we trekked across the state to see friends. We split up the drive by staying in Harrisburg and heading to Chocolate World in the morning. We always leave sweeter than we are on the way in. It's tough to resist all the treats they offer and make available. We got to try the new Hershey Drops. Jon & Eric attending a dessert decorating session and heaped lots of icing onto cookies & cupcakes. Jesse and I did the shopping. The next task was to transport our chocolate treasures without them roasting (ok, MELTING) in the car for the rest of our trip.
After that, we headed to see friends in Spring City. They treated us to a yummy home-cooked lunch and again, we did some more shopping. I can't resist their awesome silver sweet corn so we went to great lengths to keep a few dozen ears cool enough to bring back and freeze for us to enjoy later. It was great to see our friends at the Farmer's Daugter Farm Market when it wasn't a zoo too. The last time we were there was their Fall Fest which is one of their craziest, busiest days of the year.
On we traveled, further east, through Allentown and out to Bangor, PA to visit our friends and celebrate their youngest son's 3rd birthday and my Goddaughter's graduation (a little late, but continuing on the celebration of those accomplishments!). We got to see the whole gang and we just chilled out that evening after another yummy home-cooked meal and going to see Zookeeper over the (NJ) border in Phillipsburg. On Sat, we enjoyed breakfast to order, played a lot of frisbee and hung out some more.
In the early evening, we started our long journey back across the state. That did not go totally according to plan but we made it home before midnight and we were all glad to crawl into our beds then. It was a good trip, but tiring journey.
