Pre-Halloween Partying

Jesse began his Halloween fun on Friday. He paraded around and sang some spooky songs. It was a treat for Mommy to stop in and share in the fun. Jesse was delightfully surprised and exclaimed this when he spotted me parading into the room.

Later that evening, Eric and I went to "Fright Night" at his school for the first time. There was a clown, crafts, story-telling, moonwalk and other treats. The fun evening fortunately was inside (as it was quite rainy out) and ended with watching the Great Pumpkin movie.

Saturday, Eric went to some friend's birthday party and came home looking more like a pirate than himself. Meanwhile, Jesse and I checked out some Halloween fun at Station Square. It was quite crowded so we didn't stay long but took some pictures, colored and got some treats without any tricks from several of the stores.

The last of these pictures shows the fountain at the Point which is difficult to see but currently dyed pink. This is for breast cancer awareness and is quite a sight to see. The weekend is already over but it was nice to be home as we've been on the go quite alot in the past month. November doesn't look to be less busy but a warm vacation is soon coming and we are in the midst of planning and all looking forward to it! Keep checking back as we should soon have a Halloween pictures to share. May you have no tricks and a sweet Halloween holiday.

Fallin' Flat

So we ventured out on a roadtrip to eastern PA at the beginning of October. It certainly was an adventure. Aside from not knowing exactly where we needed to go a few times, we did have some nice visits in our getaway weekend. We stayed in a new hotel that had an indoor pool and "hot pool" (as Jesse terms a jacuzzi). We visited friends we haven't seen in quite some time. We got to see our friend's new home and spend the day with them on their son's first birthday. He was moving a mile a minute and cute as a button. His big sister is my Godchild who is an unbelievable thirteen now and my sons were quite smitten with her too.

The next day we visited our friend's country store (http://www.farmersdaughterfarmmarket.com/) who also had a hayride, pumpkin patch and corn maze. This was lots of fun also and it had been YEARS since I've seen those folks which made me feel OLD for my birthday. It was still worth the trip and nice to be amongst old friends. My Mom traveled with us relieving my hubby of parenting duty for the weekend. He's been working diligently to dig us out of the messy house we live in and thankfully progress is being made!

My hubby also did double-duty on Sunday trying to help us remotely as we ended up with a flat tire 150 miles from home. It was thankfully a nice day, the boys were well behaved and WE MADE IT HOME on the donut wheel we were advised to only travel about 50 miles on (which we did at least three times over). It wasn't the BEST trip home, but definitely made it an eventful birthday (I certainly don't care to repeat). Eric optimistically stated that at least we weren't in an accident or hurt so you can't argue with the truth in that!

September was JUST DUCKY!

It seems like in a blink of an eye, September was gone! However, in looking back, we thankfully do have lots of pictures capturing some of those moments. So again, in a lump sum, here is a look back.

First, we did our team walk for JDRF. It was a nice day and good jaunt for us all. It is estimated that our team of thirty raised close to $3,500 in only one month's time which is amazing. We were proud to walk for J.R., in memory of his son Matthew and with plenty of team spirit...every step counts!

Then, there was the duck race. This was fundraiser for United Way that took place on Jesse's birthday. He came down to watch/participate. There were 275 ducks and about ten winners. The only prize we took home was a duck...so later (as you can see) we did our own duck thing and went on a tour of the city in one.

In between the bird baths, Jesse helped make his giraffe cake and then everyone got to enjoy it at his DUCKpin bowling party. Jesse left almost no time "to spare" in bowling for almost a constant two hours. The only break was for cake, ice cream and presents which was a score in turning FOUR!

Anyway, that just about sums up our month. One other snapshot in there shows Jon taking on his new role of "Den Leader" for a pack of Wolves (ten 7 & 8 yr olds - same difference!). Good luck to him as I think this will definitely be an important, challenging but fun year and experience for he and Eric and the rest of his troop. I think I would DUCK that responsibility, so I'm glad it's his :)
