MONDAY: Epcot

We chose Epcot as our first park of the week. Upon arrival, the boys got to meet Mickey and friends just before the park opened. We headed straight to Soarin' which was Jesse's favorite ride the last time we were there, but not this time. Test Track was a ride Jesse did not like on our last visit but this was a favorite this time. We also got to go on Maelstrom in Norway and Spaceship Earth (inside the giant trademark sphere) too. Figment, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Mission: Space and Ellen's Energy ride were also included in our day. We had a yummy lunch in Japan authentic restaurant, Teppan Edo. Jesse took on a Kim Possible mission but didn't get back to it and the phone ended up going home with us....our punishment was the battery going dead and chirping at us at 4am. The boys also took on the Great Piggy Bank adventure where they successfully earned, saved and invested $$...they would have been happy to keep their "pet" piggies whether there was anything in them or not. After seeing the manatees and Turtle Talk with Crush, Jesse wanted to get a little plastic turtle at the gift shop. It was a "fill your bag" with treasure for a particular price but he just wanted one turtle. He asked the cashier how much this would cost and he responded with telling him that he would have to buy the whole bag. His look of disappointment apparently had an effect as a few moments later, he came over and presented him with a little Disney box. Inside was the turtle he had wanted. It was a sweet gesture that definitely brightened his day (not that there can really be a dim day at Disney!?!).

We headed back to the resort to go swimming that evening and happened to hear that they were doing karaoke nearby. Jon decided to give it a whirl and did a great job singing "Follow Me"along with several others we saw and heard there. By this time, Aunt Teri had arrived (as did Gram T) and joined my Mom, Larry and the boys cheering him on. His good job warranted the boys running up to give him a hug followed by quality hot tub time which is a wonderful way to end any evening, especially after being on our feet all day on a summerlike warm day at Epcot. 1 park down, 3 to go!
